new print - almost

I quite like the "feel" of this print but am

not convinced about the lower half -

so am working on an alternative version

that I hope will be ready in two or three days...

the same process as the previous two posts!

new handpulled print

My new print - a companion to the one posted last.

Again based on the fields of stubble around the house-

a mix of intaglio, relief, stencil and monoprint.

And edition of ten, each print went though the

press about twelve times!

this is the print finished.....

based on a walk across stubbled fields

where I live -

I have always loved the brief period between

when the harvest is collected and the fields

are ploughed over - the almost mystic patterns

in the stubble left by various machines...

for printmakers, this is a mix of

intaglio, relief and monoprint - the images

I have done all vary slightly..

I have two more I am working on that

should be companions to this.

and now for something completely different!

this is a study for a print I am working on

based on my walks in the nearby fields.

The final print will be intaglio type,

chine colle and relief - and reflects a growing need

to use some non-figurative imagery!

two new intaglio type prints

Two new prints done on my etching press

using Hahnemuhle etching paper.

The top one is "Retired-Lindisfarne" and

from the state of the boat the title should

be self explanatory...

the lower one "Harvest Time" based on a view up the road

just before the bedraggled crop was harvested.

Editions of 75 - image size around 15cms at longest,
